Why they invented the television?
Television was the next logical step beyond radio. People used to sit
around and listen to radio sitcoms like we watch TV shows. The next
logical step beyond being able to only hear them was being able to see
them. There were a number of individuals who were determined to
produce a system of broadcasting moving images in the early part
of the twentieth century. Notable names are: Nipkow - A German
inventor who developed a rotating disc to break an image down to
a stream of electrical signals. This was the basis for the first
television system but Nipkow never actually made a working
disc and in fact, never considered it for use with moving images ,
just static images.
